Simon Sinek wrote one of the most popular books to address the idea of purpose in business: Start With Why. In the book, Sinek argues that one of the most important questions that a company or an individual can ask themselves is simply “Why?”
So what’s our ‘why’ here at Illumicast?
Owner Wes Miller’s father owned a small retail store near Hutchinson, KS. Wes got to see firsthand the joys and tribulations of being a small business owner. From an early age, Wes learned the importance of paying attention to details and following through on tasks.
Now, as a business owner himself, he cultivates a strong inner commitment to excellence. But excellence on its own can easily become a hollow perfectionism that fails to really make a positive impact on the people around us.
So what’s the ‘why’ behind our excellence?
We believe that God places a high value on every person. It’s our goal to treat every one of our customers with a respect and care that mirrors the way God sees them. This care extends beyond our customers to include their property as well.
So for that reason, we do great work because we value people. That’s why our motto is: Excellence because we value people and their property.
That’s our ‘why’. It's the purpose behind the day to day of digging dirt, cutting concrete, and installing precast egress window wells.
