What is it like to get a new egress window well installed in your basement? Let’s take a step by step walkthrough of the entire experience.
The first thing you'll do is reach out to us either by calling (620) 200-0616 or filling out the contact form on our website. Owner Wes Miller will get in touch with you (usually within a day) to schedule a time to come look at your home.
On the scheduled day, Wes will arrive at your home, and assess the location that you have in mind for your egress window. He’ll check to make sure our crew will have adequate room to work, and whether there is good drainage on that side of your home. Before he leaves, he’ll give you a quote for your project, clearly outlining everything that’s included with your egress window well purchase.
When you’re ready to go ahead with the project, you’ll send us a $1000 deposit and we’ll call you to schedule a day for the installation.
On the day of the installation, our crew will arrive first thing in the morning–normally between 7:00 and 8:00 a.m. Our crew leader will confirm the location for your new window well, and the crew will start unloading equipment and supplies. If you chose our optional Green Lawn Protection, our crew will lay down sheets of plywood over your lawn to protect it from being damaged by our equipment.
While part of our crew begins digging the hole outside your home, one of our crew members will set up our dust protection system inside your basement. This is like a mini room or tent inside your basement that keeps the dirt and dust confined to the installation site. We’re also careful not to track dirt or mud into your basement with our shoes.
During the rest of the day, you’ll hear a series of loud noises as our crew skillfully handles our digging, cutting, and installation equipment. After digging the hole outside your basement, they’ll precisely cut the concrete to the correct dimensions for your new egress window. They’ll install the walls of the window well and the new egress window.
By late afternoon, our crew will have completed the installation and will start loading up equipment. They’ll remove the interior dust barrier, leaving your basement nearly as clean as it was before they began work. On the outside, they’ll smooth any fresh dirt around the window well, and pick up any construction related trash or debris.
Our crew leader will touch base with you to make sure everything looks good. Once everything is to your satisfaction, you’ll pay the balance of the invoice, and our crew will return to our shop.
Now it’s time to sit back and admire your new egress window well!
