Dodging Dogs and Digging Dirt: A "Fantastic" Morning at the Britt Residence

Basements are notorious for being dark and dingy. Older homes frequently feature small hopper or daylight windows perched high up near the ceiling. These tiny windows only let in a sliver of light and are practically useless as an escape route in an emergency.

When Kane Britt reached out to us, his basement had one of these exact windows. He wanted to upgrade to a full-sized egress window, but he had a few concerns about how the installation would fit into his family's busy life.

Here is a look at how we transformed the Britt family's basement—and made some furry new friends along the way!

Overcoming Challenges: Schedules and Dogs

In his review, Kane mentioned that between their work schedules and a pack of large dogs on the premises, they felt like they were sort of a problem customer.

Our team was happy to work around the Britt family's schedule and accommodate their dogs to make the arrangements seamless.

We aim to treat every customer with respect and care. In fact, it’s baked into our motto: Bring light for life with excellence because we value people and their property (and their dogs 🙂).

Installing egress window in Kansas

A Lightning-Fast Installation

We specialize in egress windows, which means we can usually complete the entire installation in a single day using quality materials and specialized equipment.

Despite needing to navigate around the “pack of dogs” as Kane called them, we were able to install a new egress window by lunch time!

The Dog-Approved Results

The transformation from a tiny, dark window to a large egress window allows a massive amount of natural light to flood the room.

We installed our signature precast concrete window well, which is engineered to meet all relevant codes. We topped it off with our clear polycarbonate cover, which helps keep rainwater out and curious pets safe. The clear cover acts like an umbrella while still letting the sunshine in.

The best part? The new window is officially dog-approved! The Britt family's beautiful white dogs assumed the role of post-installation analysts, inspecting the new precast concrete well from the outside and enjoying the brand-new view from the inside.

Kane's Five-Star Review

We are grateful for the wonderful 5 star reviews from customers like Kane. Here is the Google review he left us after the project was completed:

"The whole team is fantastic; from the estimate, to the arrangements (between our work schedules and the pack of large dogs on premises, our family was sort of a problem, but they made everything work! They went above and beyond when the day came for the installation, and had it knocked out by lunch time.I would (and have been) recommend to anyone i know."
